cause and effect are mutually dependent, since the existence of one determines the existence of the other; moreover, if something is not a cause it cannot exist, since all being has effects.
knowledge: God is the only Cause, and His Son is His Effect.
perception: the thought of separation — sin — is the cause of the dream of suffering and death, which is sin’s effect; forgiveness undoes sin by demonstrating that sin has no effect; i.e., the peace of God and our loving relationship with Him is totally unaffected by what others have done to us; therefore, not having effects, sin cannot be a cause and thus cannot exist.
